New CAO for the Municipality of the District of Shelburne

After an extensive hiring process, Warden Penny Smith and Council are pleased to announce that Tom MacEwan has been appointed as the new Chief Administrative Officer for the Municipality of the District of Shelburne.

“Tom brings a wealth of experience to the position having served as the Municipal Solicitor to a number of Municipal Units as well as holding the position of CAO for the Municipality of the County of Kings for approximately 4 years.  Council is excited to work with him to move our various projects forward,” said Warden Smith.

“This is an exciting time to be joining the MDS and it is a great opportunity to work alongside a progressive Council that has a clear vision for the future of the region.  The staff at the MDS are a talented group of professionals and I look forward to contributing to this dedicated team in serving the needs of the residents,” said CAO MacEwan.

Tom will be taking over after the departure of Chris McNeill in March.  Council would like to thank Ken Smith for his leadership and guidance as Interim CAO the last 5 ½ months.  Tom commenced his duties on July 3, 2018.
