SOU'WEST NOVA TRANSIT ASSOCIATION

Sou'West Nova Transit is a community-based non-profit society dedicated to providing
affordable, accessible, door-to-door transportation to residents of Shelburne County.
Our office is located in the Annex to the Old Court House at 2401 Highway 3, in Barrington.
Our website is at www.souwestnovatransit.ca and direct contact can be made
through email at info@souwestnovatransit.ca and by telephone at 902-673-2572.  Our
mailing address is Post Office Box 84, Barrington, NS, B0W 1E0.  Renata Tweedy is
our Coordinator.

We are actively seeking members of our community who are interested in providing
reimbursed transport to local residents by volunteering their time and their vehicle.
Our mileage and expense reimbursement plan is the same as the Province's.  We
also provide supplementary liability insurance for vounteers.  Please contact us to
learn more about how reimbursement works and how to become a volunteer.

While we expect our first riders will be residents who are elderly, residents who have
demanding medical needs, and residents who have mobility problems, it is our goal to
provide an affordable, pre-booked transit services to all residents of the Municipality of
the District of Shelburne, as well as to residents in all other locations within Shelburne
County.  The Municipality of Shelburne has provided specific and substantial aid for
residents to use this service.

Sou'west Nova Transit has been able to purchase a 14-passenger, wheelchair-accessible
bus, and we are now in the licensing process with the Utility and Review Board. This
should be completed by the end of March. Service will begin when the Utility and Review
Board completes its work.
